For me art is a spiritual journey. As God is the
creative force behind everything, everything for me must in some
way magnify the presence of God to some degree. When you consider
the wide realm of possibilities that art conveys, what better
source of inspiration can there be? Another major component to
my work is the idea of time and space. I like the general feel
of something being frozen in time, or a particular mood or emotion
being captured and presented in such a way that one could almost
use the canvas as a doorway to step in to this infinite world
where time slows, and sensitivities are heightened.
From this perspective the subject of my work is not so much
presented, but captured in a particular state, with a particular
kind of mood. Sometimes this mood may be positive and lighthearted,
and at others it may be dark and foreboding, nevertheless, there
is always a spiritual undercurrent that draws the viewer into
this world.
